WELCOME. It's nice to meet you.

It was just over a month ago when a simple idea to promote women makers in West Virginia grew, turned upside down and shattered all expectations.

The West Virginia Women Made Market was scheduled for May, and like many events, was rescheduled as a virtual event in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.  The result was nearly 40 juried makers, buyers from nearly 40 states and more than $45,000 in revenue over just a few days.  Hand-lettered art, colorful macrame, handcrafted jewelry, pet accessories, paper art, wooden decor, maple syrup, leather goods, personal care items and more were just a small sampling of offerings available to purchase. And a whole new category was even created: New cloth masks. Not only has the market served as a space to promote the incredible talent of women makers in the Mountain State, but it has created an economic engine to support the art and culture in - and out of - the state. And we're just getting started. As this project takes on a life of its own, we're changing and adapting to support it in every way we can. That means everything from creating an official business, to our brand new website, our board of directors and keeping the momentum going. The market is now ongoing, accepting new vendors monthly. We're planning future events - both virtual and in person. And, we've added the Junior Market for aspiring, young women entrepreneurs. Welcome to the West Virginia Women Made Market. We're glad you're here.
